a day of birth celebration

the day started with a gospel brunch and ended with korean bbq. there was a sprinkle of darts and nutmeg in between.

Austin, Texas
is way cooler than i thought it'd be.
this shop is called UNCOMMON OBJECTS and it literally is, a shop FULL of uncommon, totally random, objects. I went twice during my weekend visit.sxsw makes dreams come true
this festival is especially funny because of the dramatically different venues you see bands play in. We saw this band (the middle east) play in a sterile convention center (pictured above) and then a few hours later on a tiny little outside stage at a dive bar.
We snuck into both shows, using only stealth&charm...but THANK GOSH we did because they are truly amazing.

(sxsw was a crazy lovefest of music. we roughly counted that we saw 18 bands.HOLY COW! i did a whole lot of sleeping after the festival)
